Congrats RR on a nice score. I read post about more guys upset that DiMarzio does not produce Axis pups for sale, than any other pup by anyone.

I like the stock pups ,but they just don't tickle my pickle if ya know what I mean.

What did you put in there instead? Did you sell the pups before you put new ones in? I tried changing out the stock pups on my ASS,...big mistake,.....immediately had them put back in.

I've got a set of Duncan's on the way. I went with a SH-4 for the bridge and a SH-2 in the neck. They will be here Friday. I will try to remember to shoot a before and after vid.

In my opinion a set of Axis pup's are not an easy item to find anywhere!! What I do (on any guitar I own) is that when I do change out the pups, I always keep the original set (that way I can always return it to its original state if need be.)

With that said, I LOVE to change out pickups!! I like playing the same guitar, but I love to change amps (6l6 vs el34's) and pickups.

I am awaiting the day that pickups can just be popped in and out (no soldering, no mess, - just pop them in), standard fit size for all guitars etc. . .

I just picked up a pair of Axis pups from a guy in Texas. Paid $120 shipped and I feel great. Installed them in my AX40 last night without a problem. They are better than any other humbucker I've ever owned.

Speaking of that. My wife came downstairs while I was playing the xbox and asked me what the hell I ordered from Musicians Friend. My 3 y.o. had been messing with my phone and had my email pulled up from MF telling me my pups had shipped.

After I explained how everything was going down she was cool with it. She's pretty good to have around. I spent like 4-5 grand on equipment last year and all I had to buy her to make her happy was a Coach purse. So I beieve I'll keep her around another 11 years or so.
