    Axis SS string issue

I have an Axis SS. My only gripe is that some times when I hit the strings hard playing a funk rhythm or something like that, the high E will wrap around the neck pickup and get stuck. It sometimes takes a minute to notice "where did my E go"!!?? Then I have to literally stop what I am doing with the right hand to pull the string off of the pick up, and have even broken a string before pulling it off.

I'm not sure if this would happen if I changed the gauge to 10's, or I could probably lower the pick up, but I was wondering if any other Axis users have experienced this and if so what their solution was?

    thanks

I have not experienced this on an Axis, but I had a Ritchie Blackmore stratocaster that was doing the same thing. It turned out that there was something wrong with the bridge on the guitar and it had to be sent back to Fender. I can't speak for EBMM, but the Ritchie Blackmore strat is my only experience with something like this.

I have 3 Super Sports.....It has happened to me once....on one of them....I use 10-46 strings....but I do have my action set real low on all of them......Don't think I am much help ....but....I play often.....It used to happen on a Les paul of mine...I don't think the Axis is the problem...maybe string height...using 10-s would probably correct the problem...as well as give you a thicker tone..Good Luck!!!

I don't think someone should have to change the gauge of string they are using to fix this problem. You should be able to use whatever gauge you want and not have the string get stuck on the pickup. Good luck, because that would be really annoying and I don't have any advice for you unfortunately.

I use 10's on my Axi and it happens very occasionally. Not enough to worry me though.

You could mount a guitar pic to the pickup and get some rapid fire 16th notes outta the high e.
