It's where you spend a bunch of money to go some place far away to sleep in a strange bed and eat overpriced food. It's often accompanied by a language barrier and/or the experience of paying $100-$300 for a round of golf on an unfamiliar course, which leads to the loss of about $30 worth of ProVI's. Sometimes the coffee is really good.

What if you COMPLETELY disassembled your JP, then put it back together, gave it a full set up...explained what you were doing while you were doing it, filmed (digi video) the whole process and then sent a copy to EBMM?

....or do the same thing to a dirty unplayable beater guitar and clean it up and make it playable.

In the spirit of what's turned out to be a fun thread: My wife recently spent 5 weeks with a Luthier learning to build acoustics - cost a chunk, had to beg for time off work, but totally worth it - she came back really inspired and works away at putting together a shop, has since repaired a number of broken headstocks, lifting bridges, now working on a fretless bass conversion....yes, still doing a fulltime job. Point: if you want some experience - it can be done......infact you could even buy the raw wood (look for a tone wood supplier) for about $100-$150 and just start carving...a neck...a body....fingerboard.....fret slots....first one probably wont be pretty - but your first time riding a bike probably wasn't either. I'm not saying anyone can do it - just saying anyone could start building their experience if the passion is there. Rock'n'Roll!

I am not looking for work, but I am glad EB manages to keep their factories in California.

Holy smokes! Now that seems like a match made in Heaven. Hmm, custom acoustic shop at home doesn't sound too bad at'all.

Wow guys, I must say that I am absolutely blown away by the amount of attention this got. It's so awesome to feel such a sense of community amongst other proud MM guitar owners. Also, a BIG THANK YOU to Big Papa for taking the time to actually give me advice on the matter. I mean seriously guys, what CEO do you know of that gives kids like myself the answers they seek for employment with ones company. So again BP thank you for the advice and for also defending me. I showed my family this and they too are blown away.

Taking into consideration all the feedback I've received on here I feel it would be best to wait to send in my resume until I do more research to see what positions are available and where I would fit in the Ernie ball music man family as a valuable resource. This will be a personal goal of mine and I'm certain I will keep you all updated. Again, thank you everyone, thank you BP

    This made my day!

hi big poppa i'd like to know if i could get a chance to work there....i've seen a video that shows what kind of work is done there and I think that it could be great....i've already modded a guitar by myself (check the pictures here Roberta Rizzo's Album: My Shadow Pulsar), from an old guitar i've done a new one changing the bridge (first was 6 screws bridge and i put the 2 pivot one) the tuners, the pick ups added a top on the guitar, i've put on a new coat (first the guitar was blue, now it's trans blue burst with glitter) and so on (only the wood remains of the original guitar)...i've worked in a carpentry as a carpenter and a restorer of ancient furniture....also i'm a guitar player and a sound engineer....and other stuff....if i send my resume to EBMM would i have any chance?? i worship my jp bfr guitar and i think that would be great to work in its place of birth helping other guitars to born thank you very much.

Surely EBMM has positions other than making guitars, no? More business/numbers positions, and stuff?
