The curiosity started a while ago w/ the likes of Luke, JP, SM and others having signature models.
Finally had the chance to play a Luke when a friend asked me to sit in on a tune or two, he has 2 Lukes.
I liked everything about it - then came the quest to get one of my own....
Hooked !
Now I've got an AL on my radar and perhaps a Silo down the road.
I was shopping just last week to replace my Warmoth-swamp-ash-bodied Strat with something lighter and more versatile, stumbled across what must have been the last True Gold Luke still in the wild and completely fell in love with it. Wasn't really familiar with EBMM guitars, so I came here to look into them.
Well. Bought it today. I don't love the colour, but I sure do love the neck and the sound!

I had known about EBMM guitars for quite some time and had always liked the look of the Axis Super Sport but never really got a chance to play one. I went into Guitar Center to check out a few guitars when the salesperson showed me a LUKE of which I knew nothing about. As soon as I started playing it I knew it was an amazing instrument and I ended up bringing it home. Since then I've been fortunate enough to be able to get a couple more Music Mans and if I can sell my other brands custom shop guitars I will be buying a few more EBMM's.
I went to Guitar Center this past October with very intention of buying a new Les Paul Standard Traditional Pro. I even called ahead to make sure they had the color I wanted in stock. When the salesman handed me the guitar my heart sank to the floor. The quality was terrible. The neck looked like a banana the action was awful and their was overspray around the neck joint. The epiphones looked and felt better. After trying everything in my $2,000 budget I saw a cherry burst Axis and thought I'd give it a test drive. I couldn't put it down! I've hardly touched any of my other guitars since. I was sure a guitar this awesome must have an owners group or forum somewhere. Then i found this BROTHERHOOD of EBMM owners. BTW the sticker price on my Axis was $1349. Quite a boo boo on GC's part. They had priced it wrong and it actually sold for $1920 but the sales manager let me have it at the misquoted price. Honestly I would have paid the full price without arguing. That's how good this axe is!
I'm pretty new to the forum (joined I think in 2010). I was looking for a new guitar a few years ago and EBMM hit my radar. Tried a few models/neck configs. Got an ASS (RW board/maple neck) and was very impressed with the sound/build quality. And, like mtrejo, bought an AL (RW neck, mahog body, MM90s) sight unseen based on forum dialogs. I was SO impressed that within 2 months I turned around and bought Pete duB's BFR AL (via smd24fan) this week. The AL is a great fit for me. Great tones, balance and, well, everything.
I joined late in 2010 after buying my silo which was my first ebmm guitar.Since then I have added a 3 more.My axis ss has gained the top spot,I just love the feel and tone of this guitar and the piezo is so sweet on these.Next on the list?Would love to have another super sport with mm90's and piezo, and a game changer.
I first noticed the EBMM guitars when i went to a Van Halen gig in 1993 and saw Eddie with this fantastic looking axe.
I only managed to get one last year and joined this forum to chat about the great guitars. I have got to say this is the best forum i have been on as you get a lot of help quickly the humour is great and the pictures of everyones beloved Axis/JP's etc is brilliant.

I got into my HSH Silhouette in 1995. I was in a band that played all originals. Most of our gigs were showcase, 45 minute sets. I wanted a guitar that would cover more bases so that I wouldn't have to bring my Strat and LP to those short gigs. Enter El Silo.
I just now got into this community because I've got a question about the middle, single coil. I'm looking for a chunkier sound from it. The pups are original DiMarzios from that period. Hummers kick, but the single just doesn't do it for me like I want it to. I'd love to find a new one that would fit the bill. Also wondering if it's not so much about the pup as the string height. The action's to die for.
I also got into this community because I love music and guitars.
Anyway...thanks for asking. Here's a shot:
