    Luke 3 Question...

    Just saw the Luke 3 on Music-Man.com and I was wondering if the custom Dimarzio Humbuckers are the same ones as the Axis or are they something that was custom wound for Luke?

    I think on another thread it said they are different then the axis and are custom wound for the Luke

    I heard the samething as Gio Mat, though I have not officially heard it confirmed by EB yet.I am sure that Sterling will set it straight soon as a lot of guys are not certain.

    I'm also wondering about the pickups in the L3, but not just the humbucker (is it the same as an axis pickup?) but also the new single coils (same as those that go in a silhouette SSS?)

    Can we get an approximation to what they sound like? Or what is the closest DiMarzio stock model?

    According to DiMarzio, the neck and middle pickups are very similar to the Injector pickups that Paul Gilbert uses. The bridge pickup is proprietary to the Luke 3, but the closest stock DiMarzio would be the Norton. Hope that helps.....
