    Brian Ball's PRS on ebay!

Found this PRS on ebay, seems it belongs/belonged to Brian Ball (see under pickup photos). Nice guitar but lots of wear and a strange fading going on...

Nice to see other manufacturers building for the competition though.

My eyes aren't talented enough to weigh it!

P.S. I've owned some very heavy EBMMs and very light PRSi in my time.

OK this has come up before. Brian and Paul were at an event...Paul said " I would love to make you a guitar" Brian said "wow thanks Paul"

Paul made him a guitar. not this one....even though in the factory they identified it for brian they shipped him a different on that he never would sell....ever.

This has never been brian's guitar.

Also, hat Modern Eagle 1 was sold used by the Guitar Center in Hollywood a while ago (if I remember correctly). So it must have changed owners a few times in the past. Don't think a personal guitar of that kind would get around like that.

I am the seller of this guitar. I just want to be clear that I made no assertions about who has/hasn't owned it. The markings in the pickup cavity certainly indicate it was intended for Brian at some point.

The guitar does not weigh a ton. It's not particularly heavy or light. It's a well balanced instrument that sounds and plays fantastic.

Exactly how do you weigh a guitar from a picture on the Internet? Is it based on the size of the jpg divided by the dimensions?

Hey Hippie noi worries but now that you know that Brian never owned it you may want to clarify it....it is an assumption that is easy and natural to make but now that we all know the story....

Sick flame on that guitar. Way way out of my price range though.

The "uneven" stain comes from the top being a piece of maple heart wood, the portion of the tree close to the center. It has a high sap content, so stains respond differently in these portions of the wood. Hence the sap racing stripes. It's kinda officially called UVC - Unique Visual Character. Some hate it, some love it and think it's part of the Modern Eagle's appeal. Certainly unique character trait .

Thx BP for th heads-up on the background story. Not every day you read a recognizable name in the pickup cavity of a guitar .

I'm not a PRS guy, but that is a pretty guitar. Interestingly, when I bought my green EVH in 92, it was between a MM and PRS. I weighed the options and the Dimarzios and price won out. I'm happy I made that choice.

Hey Guys, I just saw this thread. I still have my guitar and would never sell the guitar Paul made for me. Paul's always been extremely nice to me, makes a great guitar, and I plan on having the guitar until I croak and hand it down to my kid(s).
Ill post a picture of my modern eagle, and post it up here tomorrow.
