Case for Axis?

This is a discussion on Case for Axis? within the Music Man Guitars forums, part of the Gear Talk category; Can anyone recommend a case that will fit an Axis securely. Something other than the original hardshell EBMM case. Thanks...

    Welcome, RFM...

I could recommend G&G, which I know would house an Axis well, as I had one in it previously, and it now houses my EVH -- http://www.ggqualitycase.com/

You could also look at the MM molded case, either from MM themselves -- 1.800.543.2255, or you can get them from Musician's Friend:

My question for you is: did you buy this Axis new or used? New Axes are supposed to come with the case, so I would refer you back to your dealer to give a little a** whoopin' if new, as they're trying to nickel and dime ya, and it isn't right.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Thanks for the quick response. I bought it used with out a case. I checked the G&G website seems like a great option. I contacted G&G, unfortunately they have not made MusicMan cases for a long time, but they have plenty of strat cases. Would this work?

PS - Great forum, first post but I have been researching on this site for months.

Strat case wont work...unless you are prepared to take the trem arm off each time and that involves tools with an Axis!

    Get a proper MM one!!!

...then you know that I'm a smart a** already...good. I can drop the "nice to the newbie" mantra with you, then.

That's interesting that you mention the G&G thing...I would've figured that they made deeper cases, not just the thin cases for Str*ts. Hmmm...the question is, WOULD they make one?

If not, I would go with the hardshell MM case....oh, maybe you can peep out SKB and see what they could toss at you (just make sure you wear a helmet )?

    Hi,

I used to have an OLP MM1 with a Floyd that I "housed" in a Gator Case. I'm pretty sure you have them over there. It was about the same size as my MM case. It's cut for a strat inside but the case is deep. Mine OLP fitted in there quite nicely.

I'll vouch for Gator cases, have had very good experiences with them in the past and currently use one of their cases to house my head and cables.

    Good quality stuff.

Actually try and find a used Peavey Wolfie Case, both Silos and Axes will fit in PERFECTLY! And they are relatively inexpensive!

Thanks to all that responded. I wound up trading my used Axis for a new one. The new Axis came with a case.
