We seriously need a EBMM custom shop

Guys, im going nuts ahah not really but i so badly want to bring into fruition some coost ideas for the petrucci line. I have been talking to orangechannel for a logn time now about how cool it would be to have a petrucci baritone, like the sillohette bass with the petrucci trem and everything. AND i want to get two other petruccis that have 22 frets one with rear routed single coils and one rear routed with the old steve morse model's pup configuration!!! now how friggen cool woudl that be? HUH? hahaha anyways... i really wish it could happen.

    God bless,

    Tony

There are 8 bazillion different combinations of our guitars that you can order. Thats not enough huh?

A wise man(Big Poppa) once said a guitar mfg company has a custom shop because their regular line sucks( not an exact quote, but it was something like that)

It's not that I don't like the guitars as is, I'd just like different color options and maybe a tweak or two.

I understand, and I actually own something from the Gibson custom shop folks, but you guys have to understand how much impact even a small change in the mfg process has on a company. Plus the fact that you guys here, although you are a rabid bunch of EB/MM fans, are a small portion of the buying public, and if you look through posts here on the forum you would think we were stupid for not continuing the sparkle finishes for instance, but the truth is, they didn't sell. yes it would be nice to have pickup options etc. but the company offers a LOT of different options, and IMO our guitars are pretty darn good as they are.

I understand there's probably a good market is "custom" just like in automobiles.
I personally prefer to have the goods as the original creators meant for it to be.
EB does have enough variety no doubt.
"If" there was anything that I would want custom, it would only be in colours. I know there's a huge selection already which I am plenty happy with.
As mentioned, if you start messing with certain components, you totally alter the guitar in ways you couldn't even imagine. The EBMM line is totally refined.
Other companies fall prey to having too many models. The result, a half ass guitar.
I prefer the current line up of minimal models that are perfected! The result, a guitar that is not only on the ball, it is the BALL!
Keep up the good work guys!

I have to say I think Big Poppa was dead on! Fender and Gibson custom shop guitars are pretty nice. Well they used to be and Gibsons still are. However when I pick up the regular line in a music store the guitars can be so far apart in quality that I wonder just how many factories there are. I've never picked up a bad EB in a music store. That's why I like them so much..

I agree...Pick up a MM guitar, then check out a Gibson or Fenders fret work...We have custom shop quality on ALL our guitars.

    Put it this way.
Most people cannot afford F---er and G-b--n's custom shop.
These guitars now become somewhere around $3500 - 5500 or more!
for a guitar that still isn't an EBMM!
I'll take the $2000 version w/ piezo and be very happy thank you!
