Hey Jonny!!

This guitar sound is simple Axis sound but more cream and more sustain... I love it because I crazy about Rosewood neck guitars , like PRS any Rosewood type guitars... If you don't know what is the sound like, you have to go to try one time for any Rosewood neck guitars.
You mean a guitar shop in Mong Kok is call "Nelson Piano". Yes still here!! But it a really bad place... I won't buy any guitars here!! The price is not good, the saleman is not good and the boss also not good (but he already die in two years a ago we call him "Fat Man")!! Hong Kong is only Tom Lee music can buy guitars and I have some friend working inside.

You could always try a darker or heavier nickel string, that would smooth out and darken the tone a lot.

I'm a big fan of duncan pickups, if that would my guitar I'd probably look at a Jazz in the neck and maybe a JB (pretty hot, but great tone) in the bridge.

From Dimarzio I'm partial to the PAF, PAF Pro and Tone Zone. I do like the Air Norton and Steve's Special as well.

I've very long time no play guitar now... working busy... So I don't know how to play guitar now... This time I'm just a collector... But anyway, I will pick it up again soon... I buy this Axis because I want a small body guitar for my coming patrice...
