So I've decided on the Pickup change

So I have finally decided on what I'm gonna throw into the Silhouette. I am actually surprised that it did not take me longer to research. However I am already a little used to this, since I changed my Ibanez pickups to Air Norton and Steve's Special. That is a prefect combination for the guitar and what I play with it. So I decided to go a little more flexible with the Silo, and put in the Breed in bridge and PAF Pro in the neck (SUX that the Silo's dont come with them anymore, because it would save me the trouble of buying 2 pickups instead of 1). I got some answers from you guys that helped me as well as the guys at DiMarzio tech support. I e-mailed them the specifics that I wanted and what I came up with (breed & paf pro), and they e-mailed back saying that that was a good versetile choice for what I stated. I also asked wether they were more versatile than Morse's pickups (ones I was also considering) and they seemed to think that the ones I stated were more apropriate. So the last step that I am gonna take before 100% decision, is to ask local technicians in NYC and see what they have to say about that. AND also maybe some more additions to what you guys have to say. Anyway, just thought I would update you people. I NEED to release these things, since all I think about is music and guitar, and I can not talk to people around me about this stuff in such detail (unappreciative bastards.....J/K).

I really like the breed in the bridge and I think the PAF pro is ok but I would like to see how the paf joe sounds. I think the paf pro is a bit muddy for my tastes in the neck I have used an Air classic before and was very happy with the sound of that one both in regular and split mode. Either way +1000 for picking the breed.

hey mate, I would suggest calling EBMM customer service and ask about that nut. Do it before any pickup mods, IMO it should be replaced beacuse it was cut too deep!! my 2 cents,

Hey Vexed, good to know that the Breed is a good choice for bridge. So you say that the PAF Pro is a bit muddy ehh? I don't really like muddynes much. What would you suggest than in the Neck than that is very nice for fast leads on distortion, but also very jazzy on clean. I need a very versatile combination. I already have a good ROCK guitar with floating tremolo. I need something that will do it ALL. If anybody else has some suggestions about a good Neck pickup and the reasons WHY, it would be much appreciated.

I had bought a Air Cassic at a very good price. I found it to be a sweet sounding pickup in both split and humbucker mode. It wasnt muddy but classic sounding. I never really use the neck for fast solos more for clean stuff, Cream and some les paul type lead distortion. The pickup was good for that stuff but I would bet the PAF Joe would be a good choice but have never used it.

ok, I've never tried Paf pro but Satch used it for a very long time in his axes and his sound was far from being muddy, I really loved his legato solos on the neck pickup on the earlier records like Crystal Planet, but if he changed it to Paf Joe so it must be even better, my 2 cents, pennies or whatever
