:D Aight, god knows I have started the long, downward spiral into knocking out this 12 pack tonight, but for sheeets and giggles I was just wondering what everyones favorite bass line from any song from the 1980's happens to be. Now, i KNOW people knock the 80's, but they had some good stuff too and the bass always represents in the right hands, even in a bad song. Anyways, I am throwing down first with a bass line I think is still hard...from the song "a little more love" by Olivia Newton-John. Listen to the hook, good stuff!!!!Wheres my Newcastle.....!!!!!!

Guilty pleasures...and check out Jeff foxworthy on the keyboards..the one obviously coked up...[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CK5EnzG8TSc"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

"Itch In My Brain" by Todd and Utopia. Bassist: Kasim Sulton.

Almost anything from side 2 of the Tubes "Love Bomb".

Yes, the 80s sucked, everyone knows that, only they didn't if you looked hard.

Those are all great picks! Flea, especially, did some nice stuff in the 80s. I also love T-Bone Wolk; I remember reading his "Bass in the 80s" column in Guitar for the Practicing Musician IN the 80s :)

Mr. Pink by Level 42.

..Thats the diggity...you got to bring it all the way back sometimes like that. Dont matter how bad the song is, a good bass line will always cut through the mix. I used to hum bass lines as a kid to all kinds of songs, even commercials. Good stuff...What about" walking on the moon" by the Police? Yeah Baby

What about 99 red balloons by Nina the Intro is a great line the rest is boring
Dancing master by John entwistle ( was a piss take on disco but turned out great)
Paul young with pino on his fretless ray

I have to disagree a lot of great bass came from the 80s - so I am a fan
also EB bought MM the best hit of them all
