Hi, one of my older stingrays (a 78) has a scratchy treble pot.

It used to be ok but now noticeably scratches when I turn the treble pot.

Used WD40 which fixed it for a few weeks but now its back.

Does the pot need replacing or is there another fix ?

Thanks

The pot probably does need replacing. Your local dealer can order it from Ernie Ball.

A good trick is that when you get the new pot, you can put its carbon track into your old pot casing (to keep things looking original).

Caig FaderLube will do the trick on pots and faders. It both cleans and lubricates the pot.

For less money than the spray, just replace the pot. This is the superior solution, especially considering the age of the pot.
