Welcome to Day 10 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!
Hi all! Thanks for the kind words and comments on yesterday's NYNGD #2015-9!
OK, now we see the first Luke III / LIII of this year's NYNGD. I can guarantee you it is NOT the last this year (and rest assured there will be more in 2016). The LIII has become my new favorite EBMM. The feel of these guitars is amazing. The tone and playability is perfect. The workmanship is of course outstanding (it's EBMM, after all). This guitar is a classic for me. Everything about it is perfect! All of mine are HH; I genuinely don't like the HSS LIII's (in fact, see the For Sale thread in the next few days for a LIII HSS Bali Burst Flame I will be selling) -- nothing wrong with it, but the tones aren't for me.
On this particular LIII, the all-rosewood neck is a revelation. The Olive Gold finish is gorgeous although a bitch to photograph! I purchased it in August from fellow knucklehead ScottO and no looking back! It's that good! I have been cranking it for the last hour and it is just great! Here she is:
I'll be back tomorrow with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day!
Thanks for looking everyone!
Past Days:
(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)
(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)
