Best known as the lead guitarist for GRAMMY Award-winning group, Maroon 5, and hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, James Valentine first connected with band members Adam Levine and Mickey Madden upon relocating from Lincoln to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. Since then, Maroon 5 has gone on to have massive critical and commercial success worldwide. Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as “Best New Artist” in 2005 and going on to sell more than 20 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5 won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album Songs About Jane. They followed up with It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, Hands All Over, Overexposed, and the band’s most recent release, V.

“That buzz that you get playing in front of an audience, it’s addictive, and that’s what sent me on this course. I just wanted to feel that excitement.”

Catch the exclusive documentary in its entirety premiering September 16th at 8pm et/pt exclusively on Audience Music (Directv ch.239 and U-Verse ch.1114). Keep an eye here for more clips leading up to the premiere.

Very cool. Haven't been too familiar with Maroon 5, but James seems like a cool guy and I have been digging his playing. A great addition to the EBMM family!

Maroon 5 is not really my bag, but my wife and kids love them so I hear them plenty. James is a hell of a guitar player!

Hope there's a way those of us who don't have satellite or cable can see this???

Caught this last night in its entirety.
Interesting. Enjoyed the sig guitar story and also really smiled at having dude he takes some lessons from when he's off the road make an appearance...referred to him as his personal trainer.

Also if that was his house that was clean, modern and looked like such a good creative space with rugs, amps, guitars and such

I just caught it tonight off the DVR - great episode!

Got to chat with James last January at NAMM when hanging at the EBMM booth and a really nice guy too. :)
