Can't decide on either a sky blue or a black Albert Lee.

I know it's all down to preference, but I'm having a hard time deciding without seeing the guitars in the flesh.
I've only seen the sky blue on internet photos.

I'm leaning towards the black one just because it seems a more "sensible" purchase but could I be missing out on a super cool looking guitar (sky blue).

Possibly the black one will be easier to sell if I don't bond with it?

Both with tortoise shell pick guard.

Help appreciated.

There´s only one AL color: Pinkburst!

Sorry just kidding. Can´t help with anything that is not an internet photo.

Black is an instant classic which I like on some guitars and find it just boring on others.
Sky blue is very appealing but it is not one of the "classic guitar colors" (like black/white/fiesta red/daphne blue/seafoam green/sunburst....) so it may happen that you eventually may not like it forever - or you like it forever because it is a special color. I guess it´s all a matter of taste?

Black is just plain boooooooooring and you definitely won't sell it easier because it's black, quite the opposite IMHO.

You will never sell the AL anyway, you will sell your other guitars.

Sky Blue would give it a cool "surf look" that matches well with its shape.

Pinkburst is just THE ultimately cool colour.

Ps

DO NOT choose the guitar colour after the pickguard. It can be changed so easily!

I'm with everyone else, Sky Blue for sure. Black are a dime a dozen, but Sky Blue there aren't a ton in that color. What's the config on the AL?

Thanks everyone. This is the exact help I needed.
I didn't want anymore to say "yuck, sky blue, are you mad". Lol.

So I've negotiated the deal (sky blue) with the seller, and heading off to pick her up now.

It's a HH. I already have an sss Albert, but really digging humbuckers lately.

Thanks again.

Sky blue is gorgeous in person, so much so that some people think it's almost a 'girly' color.
Ignore that though...it's fabulous!
You'll likely want to replace that tortoise shell pick guard (can't even picture that combo....yick...) with a pearly or plain white pg.
Watch a couple of MB's excellent videos to see the Sky Blue color in action....

And be sure to post pics of all your AL's soon!!

Thanks for that.

I can confirm, that it doesn't look nothing like yours lol.

Oh no. It looks minty.

Couldn't help myself. I bought it anyway. Looking for a "head bang" icon.

After further research, it's either sonic blue or powder blue.

Anyhow. Whatever, it's now mine, and quickly growing on me. :)
