I'm looking at my Axis SS (around 15 years old s/n G16820 ) The neck and fretboard are birds eye maple and appear to be one piece, i.e. the fretboard is part of the same maple as the neck. I can't see a join where the fretboard attaches to the neck, and the grain pattern continues fluidly from the neck to the fretboard. Is this neck/fretboard made from one solid piece of maple? If so, how did they get the truss rod in?

There's a video from the factory on YouTube that talks about it. The neck is one piece of maple. They cut it to put the truss rod in, and then put it back together just like it was. It's almost impossible to see the seam. There's one little spot where I can sort of see it on mine. I believe it's in the factory tour video with BP. I'll see if I can find it and post a link when I have a minute.
