Found and joined the forums because I just bought a Cutlass bass and I already messed something up.

I'll try to include some pictures, but the immediate issue I face is that my bass signal won't reach the amp unless I pull hard on the volume pot. As soon as I let go, no sound reaches my amp. I was trying to remove the knobs with a flathead screwdriver underneath them like a pry bar. I didn't realize their were small bolts to remove with an allen key. I think in prying up on the pots I damaged them.

So, with the volume pot, without touching anything I get no sound.

But when I pull upwards, sound.

And this is only true of the volume pot. HOWEVER, both pots don't have complete travel anymore unless being pulled up on. They only turn about 25% of their travel when resting.

So did I just break them? And if so, how could I get some new ones? Thank you anyone who takes the time to read this.

You will get new pots from EB Cutomer Service.

If you own an soldering iron it will be an easy fix.
Cover up the body with a towel - so you don't leave any marks. The solder stuff gets really hot.
