This is an old issue and is very normal for Majesty's with the smoked chrome finish. You can search it for more feedback.
Contact Musicman customer service. If your Majesty is still under warranty (1 year) you can either send it back to have the hardware replaced or have them send you the replacement parts, for which you can install if you ever plan to sell it. This is what I ended up doing after I had my bridge plate and whammy bar originally replaced and it wore off again.
I know that the chrome hardware finish does not fade.
Given the plating issue is a known problem, you have to wonder why they have persisted with it? I got my majesty early days so call it a teething issue with the product, but if they are still selling new guitars three years on with the same issue then that seems unreasonable, no matter how good the rest of the guitar is.
Is there a safe way to remove all the smoke off the chrome? I think it would look better all chrome than the way it looks now.
Cool. Thanks. I think I will try to remove the bridge and remove all the smoke for an even look. Cheers!
