So Toto starts their world tour tomorrow in Lake Charles, which is about an hour away.

I'm so excited that I went all in and got VIP tickets.

I'm bringing my L3 in the hopes that I can get it signed too.

I saw them on the previous tour opening for Yes and they only played a short set. This will be an entire show of just their material and I'm pumped!

Hope you enjoy/enjoyed the show finally got to see them a couple summers ago here in Dallas as they never come through here. But since they were touring with Yes, Yes stopped here.

Awesome show and thanks to someone very special we got to go back stage afterwards and meet Steve, awesome time:)

Cool picture! I saw Toto back sometime between fall of '84 and spring of '85. It was a great concert, and I've had mixed feelings about seeing them again in the years since Jeff P. passed away. I always looked forward to the "Lukather sounding like he just got his heart stomped on ballad" on each of their records back in those years. Not that I wished heartbreak on the guy, but those songs were always great, with such feeling solos on them. Memories...

Well it was an awesome experience! I cannot recommend the VIP experience enough. I literally sat across from David Paich for the show. The stage wasn't three feet away.

They brought us in for soundcheck. The band took requests, answered questions, told stories, and genuinely seemed into it.

After that we did the band photo in front of the backdrop. Then a signing table. We were given a lithograph with the Rosanna sheet music. I had them sign it for my daughter who loves the song. I brought my L3 and Steve happily signed it. The guy behind me in line took pics and texted them to me after, which was super cool of him.

The show was awesome! I'm interested in getting the Tumescent. After hearing it live, all my doubts are gone. Lukes already sit well in the mix and sound great, but this one stands out a bit more. I posted videos on my FB page (Bryan Hudson) and you can go have a listen.

The casino cut their show to 90 minutes, which sucked. But it was still a great show.

Here are my pics...

The set was 90 minutes, but I'm sure that was because of the casino restrictions. The "Evening With Toto" shows are explained as going at or over the two hour mark.

At the end, the tech put a sign on the floor saying they had no time to get off stage and needed to shorten Africa. So I know that wasn't their decision to cut it at 90 minutes.

And yes Casey, it was a fantastic show. Even at the first show of the tour, the band is firing on all cylinders. Luke is playing out his mind. And his tone is ungodly.

I saw the show at Casino Rama (just north of Toronto) this weekend and it blew me away to say the least. The band was top notch in both instrumentation and vocals. Joe's vocals were perfect and Lukes tone was fantastic and he played very tasteful licks. The overall sound mix was great too, you could hear all the instruments and vocals perfectly and it rocked!! By far this was the best money I've EVER spent on a concert and I've seen 100's of live shows. Nice to see the new Tumescent LIII on display too. The "Sammy" LIII looked great onstage too.

It was my first time seeing them live this past Tuesday at the Palace Theater... what a great show they put on. The sound and execution was excellent, and their onstage chemistry and interactions were lively and fun to watch. Definitely a top notch performance!

Agreed. The Tumescent is an awesome guitar. It cuts through the mix even more than the "regular" L3s!!
