Question How much db does the preamp circuit on a Luke III boost the signal?

Hi all,

just out of curiosity:
some say the preamp has a 12 dB boost, others say 15 dB. Some even say 20 dB.

On the MM product page it first says "15 dB Gain Boost Volume Knob" in the 'Highlights' section but in the 'Control Function Diagrams' section it says "VOL +20 dB"

So what is correct?

I can't remember what mine was set at originally but there is a trim pot in the control panel where you can adjust the amount

It should be set at 15 db from the factory. You can set it up to 20 db with the trim pot.

Yes, I'm aware of that, I was just wondering why some say 15 dB and others 20 dB. The above explanation from jlbasscatcher solves the riddle: the max value you can set the trim pot to is 20 dB, while it comes set to 15 dB from MM.
