Spalted maple top Stingray?

I just stumbled upon an interesting thing on the 'bay, under the heading:
MUSIC MAN LIMITED EDITION StingRay Spallted Maple Used FREE Shipping

(they misspelt 'spalted'). It does, indeed, appear to be a Stingray 4 with a spalted maple top. But i can't find any info on it anywhere? When did they make this? I've seen no mention of there being a limited edition, BFR or PDN run with spalted maple. Thanks. Looks like it was, indeed, an "EX" from the Japan market. I was considering it, but it got away. Oh well.
