Hey all, I purchased a JP15 7 String about 11 months ago and I finally changed the strings on it from the factory installed. I haven't been playing much over the last year due to music studies keeping me busy so the guitar although being played at home wasn't played enough to really need to change the strings. Well now I have an audition coming up in a week and I just changed the strings and I had trouble getting the A string locking tuner to clamp the string. I had to unscrew and remove the lock button and then put it back on and then it clamped the string. I thought this was really weird and I'm concerned that the tuner is faulty. Has anyone else experienced this issue? These are really expensive tuners and I want to get it warrantee repaired if possible before the year is up.

Sorry for the relatively long post.

Other than this minor issue this is an amazing instrument and I'm really looking forward to getting in on stage over the summer.

Huh- that's odd. Sometimes they can wear over time on the upper strings, however I haven't heard of issues with the lower strings. Perhaps it just needed to be unscrewed and screwed back together?

If you're worried- call customer service and get it on the record. Worst case, they can send you a single tuner to replace it with.

Unscrew the back so it's completely out- then screw it back in. Could be that it was going in on an angle. That's happened to me a few times.

I've had this happen on various locking tuners when I unscrewed them too far,or when the insert somehow gets out of place. Doesn't happen very often though.
