Question HSS Cutlass pickup white covers?

Looking at the new HSS Cutlass pickup covers it appears that the humbucker has some kind of white cover instead of chrome. Can anyone describe what this is? Is it paint or plastic or what???

I don’t have an RS, but a regular Cutlass HSS, and the cover is white plastic, just like the single coil covers and pickguard.

Well ding dang - now I have to make up my mind about getting either a SSS or a HSS. I was concerned about it being paint and having the paint peel off after I drag it it out to the beach for a few years. Plastic will stay plastic - it might turn color a bit but it won't peel off. I looked at a SSS type at a GC but it was difficult to play with those 9's. Hopefully I'll run into a HSS type soon to try so I can be thoroughly confused. Thanks!
