Just a quick question, did EB ever make a Classic 4 in any other colours apart from Sunburst, Black and Natural. And do all Classic 4's have either a Flame or Birdseye neck/ fretboard.
Retroburst, Trans White, Surf Green, Seafoam Green, Tobacco, Fiesta Red, Sonic Blue, Shell Pink.
The first batch produced for Guitar Centre didn't have figured necks (or lacquer?). Initially they were thinking a standard and deluxe version (the latter having the figured neck and other bits like chrome truss rod adjuster). After that batch they always have had figured wood in the necks.
I think the fiesta red, sonic blue etc were one offs for the Bass Player Live 2009 - for the production run they changed the names to coral red, powder blue, mint green for the pastel colours - forum members own some of the one offs and think the colours are also slightly different - but the coral red etc were produced for only about 12 months when they ceased and the colours were rotated.
Candy red (candy apple red?) was available for a while on Classic Stingrays IIRC along with GC specials like raspberry sorbet - worth checking the serial - should be a low one in the B050xxx series if one of the early GC ones. However they've done loads of odd variants of both standard and Classic models for GC.
Remember also many of the PDN limited runs have been available on Classic Stingrays - cardinal red sparkle, Neptune blue etc etc.
