Hi everyone! Just sharing my first fretboard cleaning, ten years after buying this awesome instrument.
I've been planning this maintenance for a while but due to the controversy found out about maple fretboards, it took me some time to start.
1) Basically, as described is some posts here and on the EBMM faq's, cleaned the freatboard with a dedicated wood cleaning product. I test some weeks ago with an small part of the 20th fret with a common wood product bought in a huge supermarket. A kind of wood furniture cleaning towels. It worked:
2) I searched for the gunstock recommended, Byrchwood Casey, and get it from an store here in Spain, so I applied a layer, let it dry some hours and polished with a dry towel
3) Finally restrung the bass with Super Slinkys. I have to admit that never been a fan of the EB strings, but tried again and maybe it's the best set of strings that never played! I don't know the reason, maybe my aged fingers now pair better with these fresh resonant strings.

. Next year maybe I'll sand it before applying wax. I have a year to think about it. I forgot to comment that polished too the frets with Flitz.
