Thought I read something on neck swaps around here a while back...just thought it gain some knowledge and maybe raise somebody’s awareness if this is a “no-no.”

MM doesn't sell proprietary parts, unless they're a direct replacement. That said, I've seen dealers not send back necks before (once upon a time, I bought 4 unused necks from a local shop ...!) And, of course, people are free to sell their guitars in pieces, and it does happen.

Who knows what the deal with this one is.

There’s no aftermarket for MM guitars so you’ve got to get parts somehow.
