Hi. I bring you another question about Luke III.

Don't you think it seems that PU Transition are too dark? My Luke III is the SSH version and I can't stand out in the mix, I play through a Deluxe Reverb and I run out of treble. I am considering a change of singles coils, perhaps for Area 58 or Area 61. What do you think?

Thanks

Y saludos desde España.

Personally I do not find them dark at all. Have both HH & HSS versions and love the pickups on both. Indeed my go-to guitars everytime. But that's my 2cents

Could you EQ notch the other instruments out of your Luke’s range?

It may not be a matter of the Luke not cutting thru the mix but rather the mix covering up the Luke.

I agree with mikeller, I have the LIII HSS and find if anything it's too bright. Definitely the brightest in my collection anyways.

Are you sure it's treble? If you're not cutting through the mix, that's usually mids. I'd try more midrage - that's where guitar lives.
