Sterling Neck on Caprice Body

So I have this sweet Sterling fretless neck I was thinking of putting on my Caprice. Does anyone know if this swap will work. I've heard sometimes you need to use shims? How does one know if shims are needed and where would one acquire them? Thanks for everything! Love this community

Will the neck heal fit the pocket of the body ?

What’s are the two length of the individual necks compared to each other cause of bridge position with relation to intonation.

Shims are mainly for fine tuning a set up.

They have a different number of frets. Sterling is 22, Caprice is 21. Definitely NO GO, even if it's fretless.
