Hi there!

I'm new to Music Man Basses. A couple of days ago I purchased a Music Man Stingray 5 Special HH in that amazing fancy cruz teal color. I love it! ;) Yesterday after work I picked up the case with the bass from my local dealer w/o looking in the case. At home I opened the bass case and found only the bass and the keys for the case. Is that normal? No further accessories?

My former instruments all came w/ additional accessories like guarantee card, tools and most of all a manual. Do the Stingrays usually come w/o the mentioned accessories?
If yes, where can I get a manual?

Thanks for reading and your patience. :D

on the bottom of the Stingray Special page, on the website of MusicMan, there is information about the controls (what I'd consider a 'manual'):
StingRay Special | Basses | Ernie Ball Music Man
Hi again!
Thanks for the hint, that's exactly what meant with "manual" :D
Does that mean on the other side that there are no printed accessories, tools and so on that are delivered with the bass?

Both my Specials came with:
- manual/description of the bass (not 100% sure)
- pickup(s) wiring scheme
- booklets about EBMM products
- tools (2 hex keys + 1 truss rod key)
- case keys

The Diablo Blue SR Special we received this week came with the following:

*Wrapped in a thin plastic bag

*Silica packet (do not eat)

*Ernie Ball Music Man hang tag with the ever popular CA Prop 65 warning.

*Black plush/microfiber EBMM drawstring bag with:
-Warranty card/booklet
-Yellow page detailing battery replacement
-White page detailing controls and pickup switching (not a wiring diagram per say)
-Packet with EB stickers and wonder wipes
-Packet with EBMM truss rod tool & 2 hex wrenches
-Packet with keys for hard-shell case

As far as I know, the SR Specials are the only basses coming with the bag and tools, all of the other glossy basses (and glossy guitars without the floyd rose tremolo) come with everything else. Matte finished instruments don't have the plastic bag

Yes, you're right. I received exactly what you described, I just forgot a couple of things.

That's quite a lot more than with mine: Just the bag with the keys for the case. :D
I will have to ask the dealer for the stuff.

No case candy on a new bass !!! Who ever stole it at the shop may the wrath of a thousand fleas infest their crotch and their arms be too short to scratch!!!

No candy but tools. ;)
BTW: Can anybody tell me how to replace the battery? It seems to become weak and there is a clasp I've never seen before. Don't want to destroy that plastic parts.

I wonder when they are going to start having those tools available for purchase. I had a screwdriver break in a very stiff wheel once.

They may never be available for purchase. I once bought the Ernie Ball toolkit that included multiple Allen wrenches amongst other things. Broke one of the Allen wrenches. Called EBMM about purchasing a replacement. They said they do not sell replacements, but would send me a new Allen wrench for free!
