Welcome to Day 8 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2019-7!

So... I know... WTF, Jeff? These are coming in slooooowwwww. Sorry, I've been slammed. But I'm still working hard and trying my best to get these done! Have faith!

OK. So, I'm surprised nobody has asked, "What? No Luke III's this year? I thought that was one of Jeff's favorites?" Well, let's rectify this little issue right now, and let's start stepping things up a notch, too. You like Luke IIIs? CHECK. You like LIII BFRs? CHECK. You like QUILT. Uh... DUH?

This LIII, with its Boysenberry quilt top, roasted maple neck, and rosewood fretboard, is a stunner. This guitar is one of those that just feels like home from the first time you pick it up. It's just... RIGHT. Great balance, awesome neck, superb tone. I really like this guitar. The only thing, if I'm honest, that bothers me about these (and all the recent black hardware EBMMs) is that the bridge, whammy bar, and pickup covers are a strange matte black finish and the tuners and strap buttons are gloss black -- I'm pretty OCD and that sh!t just keeps me up at night! LOL. (But really, it does!).

But once you get past that (;)), this guy just takes the cake. I was just rocking out with this guitar before and 40 minutes later I was like, "Huh? Where am I?" Haven't recorded or gigged with this guy yet.

I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Only six replies on a guitar like this?!? Maybe I am wasting my time spending 3-4 hours photographing, selecting, and image correcting each of these guitars... Seems like interest is waning.

I come back just about every single day and look at all of the NYNGD beauties. I don’t always comment but I always admire!!! This one in particular is amazing!

Sorry Jeff. It's been a busy day for me. I for one appreciate you posting. I know it's a lot off effort. In fact it's likely time that could be spent playing these gorgeous works of art.

That said, I do love that top. One thing missing from my meager collection is a purple guitar. I have an HSS Bohdi Blue LIII. If the time comes for me to add an HH, a Boysenberry would be number one on my list.

Man. That quilt must be a pain to look at every single day.

If this were the last guitar for 2019, that would have been the icing on the cake, but seems like you have a few more to go!

That’s a beauty! I love the L3, it’s one of those guitars that I usually grab when I feel like playing for a few minutes. Thanks for posting Jeff!

I'm biased towards Sports or Super Sports, at least Axis's. Hope there is also one for 2019..
But that Boysenberry looks so great. Especially that black hardware (that seems to look great on many, many finishes...) seems like the perfect match!!
