Hi baske,

Danny and LordBongo are correct, we never made Cutlass or Caprice basses in a 5 string version.

If you like to have the low range on a Cutlass or Caprice , you could use string gauges 130,100,80,65, then tune to BEAD or CFBE

You will need to file the nut slots for the larger strings, do a set up and get Lord Bongos approval.

BEAD is a great tuning and seems to getting more and more popular.
It’s the only way I will do it if a low B is required, my Blue StingRay loves that tuning !

The Caprice is an incredible bass, really wish a 5 would have happened, but I understand why it was dropped.

5 string basses with Split pickups honestly never seem to work as good as a 4 string or a 6 string. It's so hard to get a really balanced sound from a split pickup when you've got an uneven amount of strings, unless you use Rail magnets and have the pickup mounted off center.
