The original JP6 never received new pickups beyond the CrunchLab + LiquiFire. And this JPXX model effectively is the original JP6 in a different finish.

Personally, these pickups are my favorite. The newer ones always sounded thinner to my ears. Probably John's new amp sounds chunkier, so he had to compensate.
