Is that the old 'cool paper under a clear pickguard' trick? I did that with one of my Bongos. However it's done, it looks great!

My main player is a Bongo 5HH with Cobalt flats. If I need heavy artillery, then it's my '78 SR 4H with Super Slinkys.
What a beauty (and a tone beast).
I've played that bass at the Englewood GC. It is killer. I'm just not a 6 string guy. But you should reward yourself.
That's a beauty. I still kinda miss the martini glass inlays from the DD1.
I love a good story with a happy green ending!
"Bongoless"? I'm down to just 3. Is that the same thing?
I own a ‘78 Ray and I’m the original owner. I still gig with it a few times a year. I can’t compare it to the newer classic series, but it has a sharper, more aggressive tone than my standard EB...
I've done some weird paint jobs on basses but they were cheapos or knock offs of other brands that I didn't care about and eventually sold. I can't bring myself to paint or change on the finish on...
I love my Bongos. I love my Rays. I'm so glad they had a baby!
It took a while for me to adapt to a fiver some years back, but once it became comfortable, it became my standard. I even sold quite a few of my 4 strings. Over the summer I subbed in a country band...
Congrats! My Bongo 5HH is a workhorse, you're gonna love it.
Can you let me know anything about E92544? Love to know it's DOB and where it was shipped to. Thanks!
Nice Score!
The wait is over for me. Arrived is a beautiful Bongo 5HS lined fretless with an updated pickguard. Life is good (Thanks Pete)!
Great bass, nicely done. I miss my 88 SR5 too...
Mine's on Pete's list. It's taken me a few years to get comfortable with the fretless. Now it just needs to be on a Bongo! Still love my fretless Rays, but I need that Bongo tone.
Holy Moly!! That IS a keeper. Congrats
I've got the stealth pearl (white) Bongo 5 and it sees regular use, but I haven't seen any discoloration on mine. I'm pretty methodical about cleaning it after gigs and rehearsals. I'm not sure if...
Love that black and green combo! Too bad no one buys green basses... but me.
Very nice!
I saw a firemist purple Bongo 5HH in GC in LA last weekend. I don't need another, but dang that was a purdy bass. I'm waiting on a tangerine fretless HS I ordered a few weeks ago thru Pete, but...
That looks like a mean machine. The matching headstock is just killer.
I'm very happy to hear your wife is doing well. And glad you're back with us too!
Great looking bass Jay!
