    Reflex users out there....

As a traditional Stingray H player, I've been thinking of getting something with a bit more variation. Whilst ruminating about Bongos and Big Als but not really feeling a compulsion to go either...

Finally...you zealots may be wearing me down. My GAS has been pretty controlled for some time, but I feel the itch for a new bass. I am thinking something HH. Seeing as I am up to my ears in...
  3. Pssst. Guess who just turned 50? (Aussie content)

I have it on good authority that a certain bass player from down under who has..um... made his Mark on this forum over the years recently celebrated his 50th birthday.

I love Jerry Scheff. Saw him and James Burton in 1987 backing up the "other Elvis" i.e. Costello.

By the way GH, what's the name of the Australian Elvis impersonator?
  6. Help: Oz $ value SR5

My guess based on your description would put street value at about AUD $1400-$1600, depending on degree of paint wear and whether tuners were replaced with originals or aftermarket.

Nothing that can't be resolved by some EQ tweaks, IMO. Give the bass pot a nudge and roll off the treble slightly. On the other hand, you could get a 7end3r and wait for your sound to get lost in...

I'm a long term Eden user, and settled a few years back on the WT-550 head, which I run with a couple of cabs, usually a D210XLT paired with a D210XST (or sometimes a D112XLT combined with one of the...

If you are asking the question, I think you already have the answer. And of course, EBMM make the best 5 string basses, in my humble view.

(PS - no five strings in my arsenal at the moment, but...

I've had two SR5's in the past, but don't happen to have one just at the moment. Your post makes me want to go out and get one again, soon. They are THE great all round do everything bass.

Nice Bongo, and seller is prepared to ship to a number of overseas countries but not mine (Australia) because he says it will cost me too much!?!? I would have thought that was my decision to make.

I also have the WT550 - I think I replaced mine with a JJ some time ago. It sounds fine, and suspect (in that amp at least) it's not as critical as some cork sniffers might suggest.
