I have a 2017 and a 2018, both non-RS. One is about 7-3/4 pounds, the other about 8-1/2 pounds.
Most of the RS versions are under eight pounds.
OP's sounds unusually heavy.

I did that with a StingRay, but I can't keep the headstock decals if the headstock is done.
If more of these special runs like the Sweetwater ones pop up with matching headstocks I'm in deep...
I'm glad EBMM has no Telecaster type of guitar. They already play a bit in the strat/superstrat territory (mostly with the Cutlass and Luke), and that's already enough.
There are so many tele and...

I have another Marty Bell refinish of a pre-roasted maple StingRay I posted about five months ago when I got it back:

Marty isn't the cheapest, but that dude...
EBMM just added these to the vault, and it's like a punk rock Christmas (makes me super happy they're doing these):

It's possible, but it will require finding the values you want in the physical configuration that matches the ones in there. Then you desolder the posts from the through-hole solder points and solder...
I saw the StingRay in person today. I really like orange, I really like flashy finishes. But it reflects so much light that I think it may classify as a star. Glad it's too flashy for me, keeps me...
I was at a Guitar Center today. They had one of the Cutlass BFRs and it was super cool in person. I liked the texture on the finish too.
Unfortunately even though it's in their amp/expensive...
Thanks everyone for the well wishes.
After seeing his work and his effectiveness on getting it done, it's pretty obvious why people talk so highly about him.
Also, completely stripping this...
For pics just go down, otherwise an overly long story follows.
Earlier this year I had never played an EBMM. Then I was at Chicago Music Exchange and was blown away by a StingRay RS they had on...
That hasn't been my experience.
I'm real big on the StingRay. It's actually thick enough for me to play; I've struggled to find guitars that are meaty enough that they're comfortable.
I tried...
Yep, Musicians Friend has a Dropped Copper HSS right now. xjbebop is now out $2,099.00 + tax. But up one Cutlass.
Agreed; right now my guitars end up getting used heavily between my basement, two different practice spaces (different bands), and the venues we play. The conditions and tuning change constantly....
I wanted one these so bad to complement my StingRay for switching tunings in one of my bands. Tried the one at Wildwood, and I can’t get the neck to work for me, too thin. Plus it has the strat...
Does anybody know how the output level compares between the Cutlass HSS humbucker and the bridge humbucker on a StingRay? I have a StingRay, and am interested in adding a Cutlass. The StingRay has a...
Is your StingRay new (are you the first user)? If so, it came with a 10-46 set (RPS 10 Slinkys #2240); note that the Cutlass comes with a 9-46 hybrid set (M-Steel Hybrid Slinky #2922). If so, and you...
Just jamming some bubble wrap in a box could actually be more protective regarding drop impacts because it absorbs the impact and allows the guitar to decelerate less fast. The real advantage of a...
If you're not seeing any physical damage, the likelihood of internal damage to electrical/electronic components is really low. It would take some kind of freak situation for that to occur.
If your guitar doesn't show any damage due to hitting the box in an unprotected area, it probably wasn't really packed any less safe than if it was in the case. It might look hacky and stupid, but...
The StingRay bridge has some similarities Gibson 490t, but that's an Alnico II instead of V. The output level is similar, and the mids don't seem so pronounced.
What it seems like it is the...
Thanks, TrapperJ.
I bought a 2018 StingRay used and it came with some heavy gauge strings on it. The nut has been modified for the larger strings.
The trem has five springs installed on it; is this the normal...
There is no place to put a 9V battery. The pickup routes are tight and the control cavity doesn't have room. The switch cavity is tiny.
There are several options for mods, but you probably won't...
