No, the magic of the single H is the pickup placement and the 3 band EQ instead of 4.

I usually cut the high on my Bongo too. But the mids and bass . . . a little goes a long way. It's a powerful preamp.

I love the sound of that Bongo!! Are you still using Slinky's on it? What was the signal path? Any effects? Amp?

Anyway, I got to try out a 4 string version of the Classic Sterling today. It was a very nice bass, very light too.

I think you guys are really missing my point. Sterlings haven't been around that long, that's true. But, it didn't stop EBMM from coming out with a Sterling Classic model (it's a 4 string model)...

Yes, but they still issued the Classic Sterling 4. It's basically a Sterling with a 2-band.
Since they did a 4, I was wondering if they were going to do a 5. :)

It's tough to find one-piece maple neck/fretboards these days.

For me, I like the look of maple fb's but for some reason I have more rosewood or ebony fb's on my basses.

They always sound zingy to me too when they're new. It's the fresh EB Slinkys that I'm not used to. I would love to find a 5H in the sparkle green.

I really like the Pearl Blue and the Candy Red. If they were to do another run of the Mahogany PDN's, I definitely pick up another one. I love the one that I have.

With the Cardinal Red Sparkle, the picture shows a white pearloid pickguard and white pickup cover. I wonder if the Bongo will have the white pickup cover? I doubt it, but it would be a nice touch....
