I would be very interested in this. So far as I know, the first Toto album was mostly his Les Paul Deluxe, Hydra was with his '59 Les Paul, but by the time he did Turn Back, he was using a Strat with...
One thing I like about the Reflex, as compared to the Axis SS, is it is *so* comfortable -- maybe even more so than the Silhouette.
That's certainly a great catch. Congratulations!
Congratulations on the Na Hoku Hanohano!
BTW, I hope you got through Lane OK.
The neck pickup is the Virtual PAF. The bridge pickup is the Virtual Hot PAF.
Dudley: "No two instruments are the same as far as choosing pickups. It depends completely on the artist, or the sound...
Higher output has nothing to do with quality. It's just a difference in sound.
Which is not to say that a lower output pickup will not sound as good as a high-output pickup; they are just...
Small dots for me, yes!
Or birds.
Dang, did I say that out loud? I'm going to get kicked off here, aren't I?
"Premium Two Piece (sic) Roasted Maple Neck"
What are the two pieces? Didn't they used to be one-piece necks?
BTW, I didn't mean that in a bad way. You look great without it! You should go "commando" more often. :-)
Nicely done, as usual.
I like your T-Shirt.
You are not wearing your cap! :-)
I bought a pack of D'Addario strings, just to see how they package things differently. Up until recently, I've ever only used strings that come in individual envelopes, mostly Ernie Ball strings.
...
Obviously, you need more Bongos.
Agreed re. EMG being a huge part of Luke's sound for literally decades, at least since c. 1980. I can hear them on the "Turn Back" album from 1981, and they've been on every Toto album ever since...
Is that the black one?
I need to get some strings. Maybe I'll stop by on Monday and take a photo of it.
FWIW, the Luke 2 still shows up on the "redesigned" guitar page, i.e. it and the BFR version show up under "Steve Lukather Collection."
I'll add my +1 to EB over Schaller, mostly because I like that I can put them on and remove them with one hand, whereas I need two for the Schallers...unless there's some trick to using them that I...
Luke's "Candyman" album 1994.
I don't know about the Ray 34 or other SBMM basses, but the EBMM Classic Stingray pots are indeed boost and cut; it's just that there is no center detent.
Agreed re. "Checking Up On My Baby." Made me grab my bass and pretend that I'm good enough to play along with BP. :-)
Hearing the electrical parade music brought a smile to my face. Oh, the memories! Thanks for including it.
"However, does that justify not making the effort to do things differently?"
Are you implying that Ernie Ball has not made an effort? If so, how could you possibly know that? Aren't you just...
Please forgive my ignorance, but what is it about the Classic Stingray that shines brighter than the modern Stingray? (Not challenging you or defending the modern Stingray -- just asking because I...
Merry Christmas!

Vanilla HSH. I love vanilla!
Grats! I can identify with you, as I started off on guitar and much later got bitten by the bass bug, ended up ordering a Stingray.
