Those are 3 fine basses, man! Strange how both your sterlings are made in 2008, yet the burst on the 4 string looks more brown, the 5 strings seems more red.
The back does look more like typical ash. But there is no hurt in asking is there? :)
If i where you i'd post the serial number again and ask abouth the wood used for the body. Looks like mahogany or alder to me.... i could be wrong. Might be a special run?
Annyhow, great looking...
When buying guitars. Age is never a issue for me. Condition is important!
Check for dents, scratches, ellectronic issues, fretwork, check trus rod if it works properly, ....
Then play it, and...
For a 1st setup:
1) The trem height shouldnt be used to adjust action. The trem must be flush with the body.
2) Then adjust neck relief to the point that you have a verry slight bow.
3) The last...
Saw this posted on the ebmm facebook comunity and the answers you got there are correct. It is verry comon on bolt on designs that have a snug fit. There is no harm, just surface damage.
I absolutely love the neptune series. However there are enough of them out there since in 2014 they re-opened orders for another month (because of high demand)
Part of the fun in owning a pdn...
I am only 27 years of age myself, so i have much to learn and not nearly as experienced as you guys.
I recently got this notification of a memory on facebook showing a picture i posted 3 years...
I've been playing for 12 years now and a few years ago i had a long period of allmost never playing. I felt that i reached the level i can reach and i just quit playing, except for at band...
They are out of production
10-52 will be pretty loose in the low c string. i would sugest at least a size thicker. i use 10-52 for standard D tuning and thats pretty good for me. going as low as c on a standard scale length...
WOW. I'm not a huge fan of the majesty but this sure looks nice!!!!
I have schallers on all my guitar. You can buy the buttons seperatly. So i have them on all my guitars and then i have a few straps with the locks on it. It is a great system imo.
+1 for europe!
You should be able to find a used jp6 for the price of a new sterling by musicman. I know i did! No offence to sbmm, they deliver top notch gear but i prefer to buy used gear to get the best resale...
This looks great! Tye finish does look a bit darker, but still nice.
What pickups are used in these? Same as the regular jp15's?
I have a old jp6 with the first pickups and imo they are the best sounding metal pickups i have ever heard. The bridge pickup is just outstanding.
Altough i am not as experienced as you, this is exactly how i felt when playing ebmm for the first time! Since then i have sold all my other guitars and basses and i never looked back.
Music man...
Nice!!!!
Whats the point in owning a guitar if you never play it? Ok, i am carefull with my stuff, but i rather use my guitars and risk damaging them, then put em in their cases.
If you lower the pivot bolts of the trem, the frot of the tremmelo wel dig into the body of your guitar when bending down. Not advised :)
Looks good to me, similar to the setup i ise on my luke and albert lee.
this looks sick! extremely nice!
The albert lee comes off the factory with the trem flat against the body. If you want it to float, just loosen the springs at the back, the trem wil tilt foreward. You will need to adjust intonation...
