I don't use EB strings, I find they die very quickly. I like my strings to stay zingy!

    I use... eh... DoctoR strings.

They sound amazing and last a long, long time. They have a roundcore which adds a lot of flexibilty for bending and such.

I'd think the A and D pole pieces would remain raised. Aren't they that way for volume consistency with the radiused fretboard?

    That was always my assumption.

I'm actually starting to reconsider. It's a tough choice to make, I can tell you that.

Thanks a lot for the comments guys, I really appreciate it. Now to brave posting these recordings on...
  6. More Sterling Spaciness (new recording up)

Here's another one guys. For this one, in addition to the clean sound, I used delay, wah, and chorus. I also used a capo a lot this time. The song is called Kiwi.

    Kiwi

    Enjoy, and leave some...

    2006 LE Numbers?

How many of the 2006 LE basses were made? What is the number made per model?

    Just curious.

    Thanks,

I voted maple, despite the fact that my Sterling is rosewood. I find that rosewood fingerboards must have a matching headstock, while maple fingerboards mustn't, in most cases.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it.

The violin sounds are just volume swells (with the Sterling's volume knob - I can't afford a pedal!), which I harmonized. Then I added some distortion in...

    Another Spacey Sterling Recording!

I've made another multi-layered recording with my 2006 LE Sterling! You may remember me posting this one a while ago: Cathodic Narcotic

This one is substantially shorter, and is aptly titled...

I have to be honest... I really want to like the 30th, because it is stunning to look at and sounds great. But I hate that gloss neck. If only it was the regular satin finish, I'd probably own one.

Convince Me Not To Sell My Sterling!

The MM Sterling is probably the most perfect bass I've ever played/owned.

Now, I bought the 2006 LE Sterling because it was the only single pickup Sterling in the shop, and I had to get a new bass...
  23. Constantly Down and then Standard Tuning. Safe?

Alright, so I joined a new band. They tune to Eb. I'm also in a jazz band and do solo stuff, in which I'm tuned to E. I only have one bass, so I'm forced to switch back and forth between standard and...
