This is the reason why I pretty much play JP models religiously.

The middle position of the JP is the inner coils in parallel, which creates a "Strat" position 2/4 type sound.

I assume you are talking about a maple fretboard (as the necks on JP6's are maple). The only JP6s that I know of with maple necks are the PDN roasted maple that came out with a blue finish (forgot...

Probably the simplest mod is to just change the angle of the switch, so that if you do hit it you won't change it's position. Have the switch repositioned so the axis of it's movement isn't in line...
