It lists both colors on the short scale as discontinued. I hope this just means the new colors aren’t up on the site yet. I’d be very sad to see this wonderful bass go. I really cherish mine.

Love my EBMM short scale Stingray. Any chance we can get the traditional or cobalt flats? Thanks!
The J pickups are hum canceling :-)
I think Ebony would be an amazing option for next year. I opted for the sunburst because well I love the finish but mostly for that roasted maple board. It just has more punch than the rosewood imho....
If you like smaller bodies you may very well dig the short scale stingray. I’m over the moon with mine. :-)
I'm so glad you love yours too. The highs definitely sound sweeter than on a 34" scale bass, imho. Surprisingly, the low end isn't lacking at all... if anything it seems to fill out a little better...
As a proud owner of a new EBMM Short Scale Stingray let me just say they knocked this one out of the park. I admit I was skeptical when they got rid of the Cutlass and Caprice. I wasn't sure how they...
I just got mine in sunburst and let me assure you this thing shreds! They definitely made the right call by putting the roasted neck on it too. The low end is so thick it’s awesome!
Now I wouldn’t care for a headless model myself. But a fanned fret model...now we are talking! :-)
Take that 30” scale from the short scale on the G and D strings to get that buttery smooth tone. ...
I remember when the short scale launched the push/pull pot was being called a bass boost. This year the terminology changed to volume boost. Has the circuit been modified or is this just a change in...
The Vault webpage indicates it ships within three months so I will be sure to give everyone a report when it comes in!
And of course...pics! :-)
I'm super excited and will post pics when it comes in.
Let's go team passive MusicMan basses :-)
I replied on one of the forums that I would buy one if EBMM offered Affirm payments...so yea putting...

I find it sorta of funny that in his video demoing the 2018 Stingray Special he says:...
Shop Ernie Ball Music Man - Ernie Ball Music Man Mike Herrera StingRay Bass
I find it quite humorous and amazing that both Ernie Ball Artist models offered are completely passive basses :-)
...
Forum design team, I think we got an awesome bass concept :p
I think maybe the sales weren’t there for two separate passive Basses that shared a lot of similarities. But I think they could combine...
Will the SLO option only be offered on basses in the vault? That 2020 Amber Burst sure would be sweet with a SLO neck ;-)
I agree with you Dr. Cross. I'd love the output on the Caprice's neck pickup to be just as powerful and cutting as the neck pickup on the Cutlass Bass. That Cutlass pickup will cut through anything!...
Congrats!
You know, I typically dig the tone of a passive bass...but that old smoothie sounds incredible!!! :-)
And perhaps give it a modern 11" fretboard radius, like the current Stingray Special. Oh and roasted neck :-)
So glad they brought back the SLO Neck! *Dances*. Now if only we could get a starry night Caprice :-)
It's also a stellar price for a signature bass. Actually it's the most inexpensive bass in the lineup! Well done, EBMM. :-)
Woot! Woot!
Shop Ernie Ball Music Man - Ernie Ball Music Man Joe Dart Bass - Velvet Natural
I've had the pleasure of owning both the Cutlass and the Caprice. To my ear, the Caprice's neck pickup has a warmer tonality to it. It sounds a little more "laid" back in the upper mids as compared...
EBMM Caprice strung with Hybrid Slinky's. The lighter gauge on the D and G produces this pristine clarity that I love.
So happy the Caprice and Cutlass got some love! Now I'm just crossing my fingers for a fretless Caprice. ;-)
