Hello all!
I have had my Valentine now for 3 years... love it. It's my sole electric and part of the family. I have over that time, come across many comments, reviews, etc that mention the narrow...
Yeah, I got a very early Valentine... June 2016... and mine isn't very flame-y at all. It's amazing... just nothing fancy to look at... which is just fine with me. So I guess it is just hit and miss....
What about going old school with something like Surf Green. Would look great with that neck!
And that’s the conclusion I always end up reaching. I’ll probably end up with a Bigsby on something someday but won’t butcher a great instrument to do it.
I consider adding a Bigsby to my Valentine about twice a year and always chicken out. Someday maybe. I’ve heard good things about the Duesenberg version too.
Great save... and fascinating to watch. Thanks Pete! Out of curiosity how are you planning on dealing with that thin area, especially where the knob holes are?
Didn't even know what the TriplePlay was... but very cool! Came across this in my search and may be a solution, if there's enough room to mount it on the bridge instead of in front of it.:
...
Thanks!
Can I ask which fuzz pedals you have? I see one in my future and I would like to know some good compatible options. I have a Valentine but same buffer.
I have a very early Valentine, built June of 2016. Bought it barely used in September of 2016. I am no pro but I have played it almost daily since... and the finish on the bridge plate, along with...
Happy Birthday... and many, many more!
The Valentine definitely goes silent without the battery. I believe that BP was referring to removing the preamp altogether.
Regarding the Valentine... I had posted this previously, but hope it can be helpful:
The trim pot under the back panel labeled "BST" controls the amount of boost. I keep mine about halfway. Max is...
I run 10s on mine... but had 9s for a bit. I prefer and went back to the 10s but the 9s worked fine... no issues at all. Will probably try them again someday.
I tried the Boss the Katana Air... did not like the amp, and returned it... but loved the wireless. The wireless system is available separately now as the WL-20, WL-20L or WL-50. Ranges from...
Congrats on the Valentine!

I have a Valentine hardtail. Great guitar and worth a look if you come across one... especially if you have owned/enjoyed Telecasters. (You mentioned G&F).
That grain and finish looks a whole lot like my Valentine... which is ash. But I'm sure somebody will have a definitive answer.
Regardless... what an amazing guitar!
Sam Ash in Margate is the only dealer in South Florida that I ever see EBMM's in. They actually had quite a few on my last visit, but no Armada. I bought a Valentine two years ago without seeing one...
Bought my Valentine based on online demos. They'd only been available a month. Two years in and still makes me feel fizzy inside!
I’ve noticed that as well. Only if a note is ringing. Otherwise engaging/disengaging it doesn’t make any sound.
No problem... hope it helps. To me the frets feel, size wise, a lot like modern Fenders. Certainly not low.
I don't have an SBMM to compare it to but my EBMM Valentine frets appear to be just about 1mm.

Beautiful guitar... and I'm sure it plays like a dream. Congratulations, enjoy the heck out of that one!
