100% agree.
Jazz improvisation should not only be upon notes, but everything else.

This one is awesome...

The neck looks aligned, but that gap is strange.
I'd exchange for another one.
Stainless steel frets debuted with the JPXI in January 2011, and later became standard on all JP models ordered since January 2012. Your 2017 surely has SS frets.
Another change with the new preamp is the layout of the back controls. The stereo/mono switch isn't in the piezo vol anymore, it's now in a hole within the back cover.
Nothing will be done, unfortunately.
The back of the Majesty neck is not really glossy. It's painted, but it has some satin feel. It doesn't feel like oiled wood (like the first JP6), but it definitely doesn't feel much glossy.
The...
If it had chrome hardware, it would be the perfect fit for me...
Very interesting detail we can spot at 6:25... John played the whole "Glasgow Kiss" theme section with the boost engaged, then he literally PUNCHES the volume knob to disengage it!
Please take some time to do this for us, this guitar deserves a pic-heavy thread!
I disagree... in my experience, it varies from guitar to guitar. Some guitars are rock solid, with perfect alignment in every season of the year. Others need adjusment. And others, less fortunate,...
Considering that the JPX was a model for experiment new things, I'd like to see a JP20 with new stuff too.
I see nothing wrong, the alignment looks perfect.
That's why I'm extremely curious to find out what pro techs like Maddi (John Petrucci tech) does. If a Dream Theater concert starts with a 20 min song, and playing along with a keyboard (which is...
Really well done!
Love seeing these mods.
Lucky you, who don't live overseas.
Oh boy... playing with a keyboard in the band is very unforgiving!
I played a Luke once, and the neck felt rather thin & narrow to me. I don't know about the Silhouette though.
Last weekend I noticed with the Majesty (which has a trem), but the phenomenon happened before with a Les Paul too.
At this point, I believe the whole guitar moves in crazy ways with...
There is no JP model with a really beefy neck... I believe the beefier neck of the JP line is the Majesty. Not because the neck is actually thicker, but rather because it's wider, so it feels...
I can't say if there were changes in the circuitry, or if it's just a layout redesign, but it indeed looks way more cleaner. Thanks for sharing.
I play in a rock band in small pubs. I've played the two last gigs with my Majesty, but it's a pattern I've noticed with all my guitars, of many different brands and models. It always happens.
...
Nope as far as I know, only ordinary necks with single-action truss rods. Some models have roasted maple necks, but that's all.
But I agree with you, reinforced necks are a bless during extreme...
Judging by how John himself speaks with some sort of resentment towards Ibanez, I really don't foresee any Ibanez references showing up, at all.
Not willing to divert the thread, but...
Dude, that Dargie JP6 is absolutely stunning...
