Hey guys, I'm looking for a backup bass to my 2012 PDN Honey Roasted Bongo 5HH, and I've got my eyes (and budget) set on a SBMM Ray35. I know the inherent differences between the Bongo and the...
I've been looking into hybrid cases, but can't afford a Mono at the moment. I've found a case by SKB for just $99 - the SoftCase Universal-Shaped for Electric Bass. I was wondering if anyone owned...
I would like see the PDN green sparkle on a Bongo with a maple fretboard.
Can it hit the Brown Note?
I play gospel, funk, hard rock and metal and switched from the Bongo 6 after 2 yeras to the Bongo 5. I never used the C unless playing scales, or like Bass Control says, just noodling. I never feel...
Mom jeans! haha
I use the iRig for my iPhone and the Pocket GK app from Gallien-Krueger. It sounds very convincing through nice headphones.
How about a purple-flake Bongo with gold hardware. Pimp Daddy Bongo, anyone?
What about paint for the lefties?
I put them on not too long after the PDN Bongo came in, around late October. 4 months isn't too bad, considering I play 2 church services a week and practice almost every day. I usually get 6-8 weeks...
They add quite a bit of boost! I had to dial back the gain on my amp and re-tweak my Sansamp Bass Driver and MXR Bass Envelope Filter - not that it's a bad thing. I'm about to order another set :)
My set of Cobalts have just now died in tone... but I've had them at least twice as long as a set of regular Slinkes. In love with the tone of the PDN Bongo. I'm sticking with Cobalts - they're worth...
I owned a Bongo 6 and I would do this for funk: about 80% bridge, boost the low-mids some, and add a tiny bit of treble. It sounds amazing for finger-style. But for funky slap, I prefer to keep the...
It was my understanding, if you choose the stealth package you get the choice of ebony, even on fretless... is that right?
Spalted maple bongo in satin finish w/ matching headstock, ebony fretboard, no pickguard, black hardware :)
My PDN 5HH seems to have more lower mids and a little more lows than my 6HH did. Same room, same amp & settings. I like it alot. Is it just me, or do you guys find the bridge H by itself is more...
I would love to see this. I was thinking about doing clear on my 5HH, but now that I've seen that vintage pearl... wow!
I love reading these threads about mods. Even if they're not feasible, we learn so much about the EBMM bass in question.
I don't have any videos of my PDN 5HH, only pictures - but I am working on getting a decent recording device and webcam.
If you want it bad enough, I'm sure you could get a non-EBMM 6 string piezo...
I had a Bongo 6 for 2 years, now playing a Bongo 5. I would guess because the Bongo 6 is not a very popular (as far as number goes) bass, and because the piezo option is not a very common option,...
+1 on the Schaller. I don't buy a bass or guitar without getting a set. Worked perfectly with the EBMM screw.
I'm lovin that tone. Whatever distortion he's using is giving him that edge. I run my Bongo through a Sansamp Bass Driver and it gets a nice nasty, edgy aggressive sound very similar to that video....
Well, you can always saw one of yours in half. :p
