I'm glad the dark backs with binding have been revisited to.. very nice sirs, very nice.

From what I've played (and only a few of each) the Sterlings were better and more consistant with quality.

Good question... the one I have has got a Dimarzio "Morse" bridge so I never got to hear the stock pickup to tell. It came with the guitar thought so I might one day put it back in.

You could consider changing the pots instead of the pups?

There are a few posts on the SUB's and changing them to 500K will change the tone. It's a lot cheaper and may do the trick.

Agreed mate... they are only there to hold the wires in place. Anything similar will do the trick.

Mate there are a few things I always do before flying...

1) Back off the strings slightly so there isn't too much pressure on the neck.
2) Pad the case well, in particular the headstock and heal...
