My replacement plate wore off just as the original did. I haven't sent it back as it will likely happen again. I'm hoping they find a solution at some point, however.
Mine started to fade on the first day. CS replaced the plate, should have it back this week.
It's polished ebony, it's supposed to look like that.
John's main JP7 color was Gunsmoke.
Thanks!
Which one do you recommend to "polish" the guitar. The spot remover?
SPOT REMOVER PINT
I like to wipe down the neck from any dirt and sweat, and I'm concerned that it will end up...
Watching now, thanks!
I don't know if you addressed it in your video, but your trem looks like it's out of balance, which may negatively affect your piezo tone.
That can happen if the ebony board shrinks a little. You may notice fret sprout as well. Of course, it could be something else.
How do you like the matte finish?
Yes. First models used custom bridge and neck pickups, based on the Steve's Special and Air Norton. Around 2006 or 2007, he switched to the Drop Sonic/custom neck based on Air Norton. In 2009, he...
It's from the ebony shrinking slightly. It's basically what you see with fret sprout, where as the ebony shrinks, the nut pushes the lacquer away from the body very slightly.
JP's use small Phillips head screws to adjust intonation. Give that a try.
Did you buy that from Svava?
Anyone else planning to attend?
I'd love to try out the Majesty before ordering, and maybe they will have a few available for sale.

An '05 JP6 has nickel frets, basswood body, and different pickups.
Can i get a dob for a 6 bolt SR5 serial number 51547?
Thanks!
Koa too.
Can someone provide the info and where it was originally sold from, on a Big Al, serial # F25207
Thanks!
I figured I'd see the size differences and overall changes by layering a couple photos.
Note how the size of both horns are the same, though the upper horn has more scoop and now appears to angle...
People aren't posting negative thoughts because this really isn't the place for that. Try not to get the thread locked please.
I'm pretty surprised to see a blade switch instead of the toggle switch he has been using for over 20 years... Pretty significant change really.
Not crazy about the changes so far, but I will see...
Hmm interesting.
I work at Long & McQuade in Toronto, and we have a loaded JP6 in Pearl Redburst with an equally awesome flame neck, which I was shocked to see when we first got it. Two of a kind...
One will have the BFR body shape and the painted neck, the other will have the standard JP6 body shape and the maple neck.
So the Koa finish as we know it now is discontinued. I'm interested to see the Cherry Burst version though!
These colors are already gone from the Long & McQuade system.
The Koa option was also discontinued according to our computer system, EBMM staff, is this accurate?
The second one is no doubt ebony, not rosewood.
