It was listed along side 2 others that have the expected inlays. Apparently this one is the only one left in that color now. I ordered one of the others :-)

I was looking at St. Vincent in Tobacco Burst at Sweetwater and I noticed something odd.
One of them has different fretboard inlays (standard dots).

Awesome! GearFest kicks butt.
I am having trouble finding bass strings that have the proper length, too. There needs to be a taper that is after the nut but before the tuners. Even "short-scale" bass strings I have found so far...
I purchased the #2628 string set for my Ibanez RG9. The strings are not long enough. Apparently the strings must be made for a ~26" 9-string (of which I have never seen).
Is there a suggestion for...
I use a Line 6 Helix in 4-cable mode. I use it primarily for effects and as a MIDI interface to switch the settings in my Mesa Boogie JP2C amp. I have had some issues with tone loss and such, but...
Nice. That would have been my color choice had I not opted to go with the Artisan.
My last NGD (at least for a while)...

Stunning as expected, albeit slightly more pedestrian than my previous two one-off and/or extremely rare finds :-)
Can't wait to play it!
So much awesome.
I'm not sure what it is, but I really love the St V design. Not really my cup of tea from a playing point of view (the neck is huge for me), but damn is it sexy.

A little better lighting, but not the best.
Had a little bit of time to play it when I got home.
Wow.
I was expecting there to be some signs of handling, it having been on display. There really isn't, though. It is easily the nicest...
Yes, instead of the laser-etched maple, it has a koa insert.
I would think they would have to redesign the tooling to make it any different.

Super awesome.
Here it is!

I don't have great lighting right now, so it is a bit dark.
This is the one-off from the NAMM show that was listed in the blog.
The color is officially listed as "Island...
I wonder if there is anything internal that someone in-store could look up. Might not hurt to contact your local store and see if they can find anything out.
No... I think I'll have the 6 first. The 7 is actually a replacement, so I have to wait for the shipping back and forth. Hopefully have them both by the end of next week! :-)
After playing it a while, I can say that I love it.
Through a guitar amp, it sounds and feels like the bottom end of a 9-string guitar. It is especially nice through my Mesa Boogie JP2C with the...
Very nice.
I like the top. It is beautiful.
Do you mean it is obviously used? Or did they maybe open it to inspect it?
I've never bought a big-ticket instrument at Musician's friend. Only Sweetwater and Guitar Center.
Guitar Center says...
Yes, I contacted them directly. I caught it right before they had it up and advertised. Since they are only a single location, I lucked out. I imagine it is going to be difficult to track down the GC...
I was able to snag the Koa Majesty!
I am super excited.

He even nailed Trump's untruthfulness, as my name has everything to do with the crackers :-)
Yep, we're all good.
As strange luck would have it, I am ending up with one more guitar than I originally planned on buying. Exchanging this one with the dealer for a 7-string, as that is all they...
Nice.
BTW, I am aware that I am posting this in the guitar forum even though it is a "bass."
I really consider it a sub-baritone guitar, though. EB Lists it on their guitar page too :-)
