Try slaps and pops while turning the tweeter knob... you should be hearing the difference very easely... also when turned way up a little hiss maybe not much when turned...

I myself are a huge fan of Flea's sound
I can get the sound very easely from both GK or Markbass with the flat EQ settings (GK with the boost full and a bit of mid boost)
Also got it with the SWR...

Infact I traded in a GK 2000RB (yes the older version of the 2001RB) and a super heavy Ampeg Pro series cab(weight 60Kg an Watt 600-1200) for the Markbass stuff so ...

But I have no choice...
