Nice to hear a happy ending. I would have guessed it was just a stress crack in the paint. Good thing you sent it in.

Personally, I don't think I'd worry about it if they aren't causing an issue with playability. They're small and not likely to be noticed by anyone.

I've had mixed results with steaming dents...

What about ... black with a blue racing stripe. :p

How about some sort of crackle? I dig crackle finishes, but maybe I'm weird.

Yikes! I don't think I'd go back to that guy again. He was definitely trying to take advantage. Good call on getting a second opinion.

Curious now about what exactly they wanted to do. :D

To be honest, I've actually thought about sending my '07 Axis in for a factory setup. I've got a local guy that does great work, but might be...

Depends on who you ask. :D

If I'm only moving one gauge up or down, I don't usually see the need for a full setup. But a lot of people will jump in and say I'm completely wrong and you should do...

Feel is the big difference to me. A smaller gauge will be more flexible and easier to bend, a heavier gauge will have more tension. I've never noticed a big difference in longevity between gauges....

Nice. If I had the cash at the moment, I'd own one of these. It's my second favorite AL, next to the pinkburst BFR.

The AL is sweet, but I've got to get the last one paid off first. Please don't make an Axis in that configuration, at least for another year or so. :D
