Probably that's why it's taking so long. He's probably experimenting with all those options, and the dude is very methodic.
Giving how different the Majesty came out, we can expect anything.
When temperature goes up/down, strings and springs expand/shrink.
If you notice that all strings go out of tune when temperature changes, one trick is: instead of tuning the strings individually,...
Not only from John Petrucci, but also from many other guitarists.
Anyway back and forth, after trying countless picks, today I'm using the ol' good Jazz III black ones. A classic.
I'm not a JP13 owner, but that drainage is certainly not right.
First of all, let's make things clear: coil tapping IS NOT THE SAME of coil splitting. I see people misunderstanding this a lot, so let's have a fresh start.
The Majesty has coil splitting...
A short video showing that would be nice.
For what you said, the first JP6 model seems to be the best choice. The unfinished neck is awesome, and the electronics are not complicated, since the piezo module is isolated from the passive...
Shorter than a Les Paul toggle, yes. It's actually a DiMarzio EP1111 part.
So you'll probably hit the switch a lot. It may not seem to be a big deal during the "honeymoon phase", but soon...
It's important to mention that Hendrix tuned his guitar to Eb (half step down) while using 10-38 gauge.
Yup. I've seen Billy Gibbons talking about this episode in various interviews, like this one:
Billy Gibbons: “BB King strummed my guitar, looked at me rather quizzically and said, ‘Why you working...
Guthrie Govan switched to some custom-designed locking saddles a while ago.
Nice design on these Wilkinsons.
I use Billy Gibbons' .007 gauge for years. Really fun to bend, and you play for hours without getting tired. The tone is a nice bonus.
If you feel you can't do it... why not?
Just remember to come back here and post the results, these mods are amazing!
Will WD-40 have the same effect?
Original JP6 model. Piezo toggle switch is smooth, but the magnetics 3-way toggle is very stiff... is there anything that can be done to make it slide more smoothly?
Honestly, I think the modification is not worth the cost. I'd trade the JP6 for a Luke, which is an HSS model stock.
Now post some pics of her, so we can love her too!
Hey Cooper, how much do you feel the transition between SS and nickel frets on the JPs?
Do the SS frets make much of a difference?
The preamp in the JP13/JP15 and the Majesty appear to be the same. Features are the same, controls are all the same.
However, the Majesty uses three AA bateries, while the JP13/JP15 use a single...
Tasty... I really like this...
100% agree.
Jazz improvisation should not only be upon notes, but everything else.
This one is awesome...

The neck looks aligned, but that gap is strange.
I'd exchange for another one.
Stainless steel frets debuted with the JPXI in January 2011, and later became standard on all JP models ordered since January 2012. Your 2017 surely has SS frets.
